The Women of Color on the Move project empowers women from diverse backgrounds by sharing their stories, challenges, and achievements ✨. It offers a platform for mentorship 🤝, community-building 🌍, and resources 📚 to inspire and support women of color in reaching their personal and professional goals 🚀.

The Challenge 🚧

🔹 An outdated design that struggled on mobile devices 📱.
🔹 Poor SEO and sluggish load times, making visibility a challenge 🚫.
🔹 Missing essential features like a Donation page and Volunteer section, limiting engagement 🚨.

The Solution

We gave the website a fresh, modern look with a mobile-responsive design using Divi 📱, ensuring seamless usability across all devices. 🚀 SEO was supercharged with Yoast SEO to boost visibility, while page load times were sped up by compressing images, using caching plugins, and integrating a CDN 🔥. To enhance user engagement, we added key features like Donation and Volunteer sign-up pages, streamlining the experience and making it more functional 💡.

Accessibility

WCAG Color Contrast

We enhanced accessibility by improving color contrast and text scalability for users with visual impairments 👁️. Keyboard navigation was optimized, allowing mouse-free browsing ⌨️. Semantic HTML and ARIA labels ensured compatibility with screen readers 🎧. All images had alt text, and multimedia content included captions and transcripts for users with hearing disabilities 🎥.

This form features clear labels 📝 with easy-to-understand instructions, real-time error validation ⚠️ for quick corrections, and logical grouping of fields to improve flow 🔄. Visual hierarchy with proper spacing, font weight, and icons 🧑‍💻 guides the user’s eye for better readability 👀. Built with accessibility in mind, it’s a screen reader and keyboard navigation-friendly 🎧⌨️. Plus, it's fully responsive, ensuring a smooth experience on both mobile and desktop 📱💻.
