Home Decor Website
UX/UI DESIGNER & FRONT-END DEVELOPER
The website's visual design appeared dated and did not align with modern web design trends, which negatively impacted user perception and engagement. The layout was cluttered, making navigation challenging for users. Additionally, the website did not fully comply with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1, limiting access for users with disabilities due to the lack of features like text-to-speech, keyboard navigation, and color contrast options. The user experience was further hampered by non-intuitive navigation, causing difficulty in finding information quickly, and key information was buried under multiple layers, leading to a high bounce rate. Furthermore, the site lacked personalization features that could have enhanced user engagement and satisfaction.
To address these issues, we implemented a comprehensive website redesign aligned with modern web design trends to improve user perception and engagement. The new design features a clean, streamlined layout that simplifies navigation. We ensured full compliance with WCAG 2.1, incorporating text-to-speech, keyboard navigation, and improved color contrast for accessibility. The navigation structure was overhauled to be more intuitive, making information easily accessible and reducing bounce rates. Additionally, we introduced personalization features to tailor the user experience, significantly enhancing engagement and satisfaction.

Classichome has interior designers. But there wasn't any website allocated to them to help them keep everything at one place. Interior Designers have to use the main website to help Classichome's clients design their dream home. The Classichome Client brought this issue up during the meeting. And we agreed to design and build a website allocated to interior designers to help them add products to their project and checkout whenever the client is ready.
I created the website onboarding and whole flow using XD and got the opportunity to build it. I used JS and Bootstrap to build the designed onboarding process and then pushed the GitHub code for my coworker to collaborate.
LEASONS LEARNED
1. Struggled initially with the responsiveness of the website but then finally made it work
2. Learned to code using React and Ionic together to make the app work with less but efficient code!
3. Had to collaborate with the developer to discuss the functionality and make sure that he gets exactly what he wants.
